THE HUB BENGALURUEffective 23 September 2026

    Code of Conduct

The behaviour expected of everyone in The Hub Bengaluru spaces, residencies, programmes, events and online communities, and how concerns are handled.

    In short

Consent, respect and honesty are conditions of being here, not aspirations. Harassment ends participation. Reports are taken seriously, handled quickly, and never punished with retaliation.

    1. Who it applies to

This code applies to residents, members, guests, hosts, speakers, partners, staff, volunteers and contractors — in our physical spaces, at our events, on trips, and in every THB group chat, forum and channel. It applies regardless of seniority, funding or reputation.

    2. What we expect

    • Treat people as equals. Status in one room does not grant authority in another.
    • Ask before you assume. Consent covers touch, photographs, recordings, introductions and sharing someone’s story or work.
    • Speak accurately. Do not overstate credentials, results, funding, affiliations or outcomes.
    • Respect privacy. What someone shares in a session stays in the session unless they agree otherwise.
    • Look after the space and the people in it. Clean up, keep quiet hours, follow safety instructions, and help newcomers in.
    • Accept correction. Being told you got something wrong is part of the work here.

    3. What is not acceptable

    • Harassment, including sexual attention that is unwelcome or continues after a no.
    • Discrimination or demeaning conduct based on gender, gender identity, sexuality, caste, religion, race, nationality, disability, age, body, language or income.
    • Threats, intimidation, stalking, or violence of any kind.
    • Photographing, recording or broadcasting people without their agreement.
    • Sharing someone’s private information, work or identity without permission.
    • Predatory or exploitative use of the community, including pressuring residents for money, labour, equity or introductions.
    • Substance use that endangers others, and behaviour that ignores safety instructions.
    • Retaliation against anyone who raises a concern.

    4. Reporting a concern

Tell any host or staff member on site, or write to growth@thehubbengaluru.com with “Code of Conduct” in the subject line. Reports can be made by the person affected or by a witness. You may report anonymously, though it limits what we can do.

If someone is in immediate danger, prioritise safety and emergency services first, then tell us.

    5. How we respond

    • We acknowledge every report within 48 hours.
    • We take immediate steps to keep the person reporting safe, which can include separating people or suspending participation while we look into it.
    • We hear the accounts of everyone involved, and keep details to the smallest group who need to know.
    • We aim to reach an outcome within 14 days and to tell the person who reported what we decided.
    • Anyone with a conflict of interest steps out of the decision.

    6. Consequences

Depending on severity and pattern, outcomes range from a private conversation and a documented warning, to restrictions on access, to removal from a programme or space without refund for the remaining period, to a permanent ban and referral to the authorities. Serious harm, including sexual harassment and violence, results in removal.

    7. Repair

Where harm is real but repairable, and the person affected wants it, we support a repair process: acknowledgement, a change in behaviour, and agreed conditions for returning. Repair is offered, never imposed on the person who was harmed.

    Talk to a person

Anything unclear, or anything you want changed about your own information, goes to growth@thehubbengaluru.com. A human replies.
