Future of Human Connection— an immersive, on-campus residency

    Design connection on purpose.

Social media was supposed to connect people. Instead, it's making connection thinner and more performative. This residency exists because the future belongs to people who can design human connection as infrastructure — not as a vibe.

    Outcome

Leave with a clearer thesis on human connection, a co-built THB connection initiative, and a repeatable system for designing high-trust relationships that turn into real collaboration.

    Is this you?

Who this residency is built for.

    Designing real connection.

You're building for real connection: community, gatherings, third spaces, clubs, cohorts, membership networks.

    Why it actually works.

Not a workshop. Not a conference. A live environment where connection is the default condition.

    Proximity accelerates trust

Being in the same room reduces misread intent and compresses the timeline from stranger to collaborator.

    Rituals convert strangers

    tap to flip

Repeated rituals are the mechanism. They create the conditions for trust to form and collaboration to begin.

    Facilitation creates containers

    tap to flip

A well-facilitated room becomes a container for honesty, feedback, and momentum — not just conversation.

    Connection becomes measurable

    tap to flip

Connection becomes legible when measured by behavior: showing up, helping, building together.

    THB is a living lab

    tap to flip

You can prototype connection formats with real humans, not hypothetical users. Real stakes. Real feedback.

    The 111-day arc

    How the residency unfolds.

Daily rhythm: support the THB human connection build first. Then build your own craft, experiments, and thesis around it.

    Week 1

    Land and map

Understand THB's connection thesis, map current touchpoints, and choose the piece you'll support.

    Weeks 2–4

    Host and prototype

Execute, host, facilitate, and prototype small connection loops. Learn what creates trust, not just attendance.

    Day 40

    Patterns emerge

What creates repeat behavior gets doubled down. What feels performative gets cut.

    Weeks 8–12

    Scale what works

Strengthen systems: onboarding, hosting standards, group formation, follow-through, documentation.

    Day 111

    Leave with a playbook

A co-built THB connection layer and a documented playbook you can use across any community, product, or team.

Two types of people. Which are you?

Human connection is not accidental. It's designed. The window to build it on purpose is open right now.

    Spectators

    watching from the outside

    • Collect connection content and share hot takes about loneliness
    • Network lightly and call it community
    • Optimise for optics: proximity without presence
    • Wait for 'their people' instead of creating containers for trust

    Builders

    designing connection on purpose

    • Design rituals that make it easy to show up and stay
    • Host consistently. Follow through. Earn trust in small ways
    • Turn connection into collaboration and shipped outcomes
    • Measure connection by care, contribution, and repeat behavior
Connection is not accidental. It's designed. Rituals, hosting, facilitation — these are skills. Build them here.
