You don't need to have spent years in a deep learning lab. You need to be the kind of person who goes absurdly deep on hard problems.
We're not looking for a specific job title. We're looking for a specific kind of mind — someone who has proven they can go deep, think rigorously, and build or discover something real.
Theoretical physicists.
Scientists with deep mathematical intuition, comfortable with abstraction, who want to redirect that rigour toward understanding the mechanics of intelligence and language models.
Define and pursue a research agenda that matters — in alignment, interpretability, evaluation, or AI-assisted scientific discovery. You own your direction.
Use Claude as both a subject of study and a research accelerant. Build with the API, probe model behaviour, and contribute to the frontier of understanding large language models.
Weekly research reviews, paper reading groups, and cross-disciplinary problem sessions with other residents and senior staff.
Every resident leaves with published (or publishable) work: a paper, a benchmark, a tool, or a research report that advances the field.
All research is grounded in the mission of making AI beneficial. You'll engage deeply with safety literature and contribute to the community's shared understanding.

Attend weekly research reviews, give honest feedback, and receive it in kind.
Produce something tangible. A paper draft, a benchmark, a well-documented codebase, a research report. Something real.
This residency runs for 111 days. All rates are structured for the full program and are inclusive of community access, shared spaces, and the full Hub experience.
